Individual Therapy for Women

42643303Looking at life from the outside in…

You might be asking yourself how you got to this point:

Disconnected from your loved ones…

Lonely despite being surrounded by people…

Feeling like the world is moving and changing too quickly… and you are being left behind.

You might be wondering if you’re the problem:

Your relationships feel shallow and superficial, devoid of deep connection…

Conversations all sound the same; you feel disengaged.

You don’t only feel disconnected from others; you feel disconnected from yourself.

Walking around in a fog…

You no longer know what you want or who you are.

That long look in the mirror reveals nothing but uncertainty.

The path forward seems blurry and such an unreachable distance away, leaving a lingering sense of hopelessness – a blurry state where you can’t enjoy the present moment.

And despite the confusion about where you’re going, one thing is for sure:

You KNOW you’re not where you want to be.

Mental health challenges impact women differently, and it’s about time we discussed it.

We still face societal barriers that influence our development, leading to various mental health challenges like anxiety and depression. These things are more common in women than men.

Specifically, women are more prone to internalize mental health challenges and can often experience withdrawal, ruminating thoughts, loneliness, and sadness.

Have you found yourself withdrawing from life and bottling up your emotions? When that happens, our bodies send messages to alert us that something isn’t right. Women tend to experience more physical symptoms like headaches, stomach aches, chronic pain, weight gain or loss, lack of energy, and low sex drive.

Unfortunately, whether it’s our busy lifestyle, chalking up symptoms to “having a bad day,” or not realizing their severity until life is spiraling out of control…

Women can push these challenges aside for months, even years, before seeking treatment.

It’s time to focus on YOU.

When was the last time you stopped to consider YOUR needs without considering what someone else wants from you?

There’s nothing wrong with putting energy into relationships with loved ones, but you must also consider your needs, dreams, and desires.

It’s time to work toward maintaining the right balance between focusing on yourself and focusing on others.

“If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone,
these together ought to be able to turn it back and get it right side up again.”

– Sojourner Truth, American Abolitionist

272936384My passion for working with women…

Even as a small child in church, I remember being woman-oriented and completely “Team EVE.” I couldn’t understand how others made her out to be a villain. I once spoke about how Satan must have seen her as a threat much greater than just “the weaker of the two sexes.”

Today, I still recognize the strength and power of a woman. Even during weakness, there is strength:

The strength of endurance…

The strength to overcome mental health challenges…

The strength to break barriers…

The strength to change the world…

Our work together…

You can expect to feel safe, heard, and supported in our sessions.

We’ll typically start the session with self-regulating activities to calm your nervous system and set the tone for transformation. This also benefits me as your therapist, ensuring I’m in a regulated space to show up as my authentic self. Sharing this brief moment strengthens our relationship and helps you see me as a person who also does the work.

We’ll then follow a treatment plan tailored to your unique personality and needs:

We’re going to address your difficulties and uncover what’s underneath them.

We’re going to work through past obstacles.

We will connect you to deeper parts of yourself.

We’re going to promote your growth and healing.

1660320229These are real issues…

No more dismissing it as a bad day, blaming it on that time of the month, or wishing it away…

Just imagine…

You wake up. The sun is shining, and you feel a sense of wholeness.

You take in the fresh air, look in the mirror, and recognize that brave, fun, energized woman staring back at you.

Your mind is free from clutter, allowing you to concentrate and focus on what’s important to you.

Your loved ones see the difference in you, and you feel a genuine connection with them. You joke and laugh with your spouse. You play catch with the kids, spend time with family, and excel at work – all without feeling guilty about “me time.”

It’s time to give yourself the attention you deserve!
